About Chrysalis

Hello and welcome.  I’m Julia Steward and I run Chrysalis Leadership Development.

Julia StewardI started my working life as an editorial assistant in an educational publishing company. I achieved the role of senior commissioning editor, before taking a career break for a change in lifestyle, which included having children and moving from London to the South West.  My focus changed from publishing to education, and immediately prior to setting up Chrysalis, I led a large team of consultants to implement the National Professional Qualification for Headship across the South West of England from Gloucestershire in the North to Cornwall in the South and Bournemouth in the East.   In addition to working extensively with schools, I design and facilitate bespoke leadership and team development experiences and support individuals through 1:1 coaching.  I am an experienced group facilitator and I hold qualifications in counselling and a diploma in coaching awarded by the Institute of Leadership and Management. I have an ongoing research interest in developing and sustaining resilience for school leadership.  I have written extensively on the subject.  For further information on publications, go to our resources page.
